Civilization of Love is a movement of Minnesota Catholics to make God's love present for all his children by inspiring acts of charity and mercy. Those who join the movement seek to inspire other Catholics and people of good will to declutter their lives and make space for others in the hope that, through their prayer and sacrifices, God’s love can be encountered by more people in our broken, divided world.
Civilization of Love collects the stories and efforts of Minnesota Catholics so as to energize and inspire further acts of love and mercy. The logic of a throwaway culture can be overcome only by reversing the cycle of violence, hatred, sin, and death with the logic of the gift—the gift of self. May we make ourselves a gift to others and together live up to the meaning of community, that is, a sharing of gifts.
